The "Mystery Box" is a simple cardboard box with a giant question mark drawn on it, and it is one of the most powerful tools in an Eikaiwa classroom.
Blog will start soon.
How to Use It:
Hide the Lesson: Put your topic flashcards or small 3D objects inside the box before class starts.
Build the Suspense: Shake the box so it makes noise. Look inside with an excited face, but don't let the children see yet!
The Chant: Teach the kids to knock on the floor or the air and chant together: "What’s inside? Let's knock, knock, knock!"
The Reveal: Pull out the cards one by one with a big sound effect (like "Ta-da!").
Why It Works: Children are naturally curious. By turning a boring vocabulary introduction into a game of mystery, you instantly capture their attention and keep them excited to see what is coming next!
